Mully Children's Family - Sponsor a Child

Africa

Mully Children's Family cares for over 1,200 orphans and ex-prostitutes. Unlike most of the orphanages, Mulli is uniquely training every child for a post-orphanage job. They have excellent classes in hair dressing, making clothes, farming, sewing, building, welding, etc. Each child learns English and goes through extensive Bible training.

What is the program?
Ada Bible Church, in conjunction with Mully Children’s Family (MCF), is offering the opportunity to assist needy children in Kenya.  Mully Children’s Family is a home which rescues needy street children in East Africa.  Ada Bible Church has been involved with MCF for several years and sends a couple short- term mission teams there every year.

What is the goal of the program?
Our goal is to provide Mully Children’s Family (MCF) financial and prayer support for as many children as possible.

When will it start?
It will start in February 2008

How much does it cost?
The cost to support a child is $25 a month
The cost to adopt a child is $50 a month

The difference is that $25 a month helps support the child’s need for food and clothing,  the $50 a month covers food and clothes - plus items such as medical care, school supplies, teacher and care giver salaries, housing costs, etc.

How do I get involved?
Fill out this form and return it to the church office.

What is the sign-up process?
Simply fill out the sign up card and drop it in the offering plate or return to the office.  You will then receive a picture and bio of the child you will sponsor by mail.  You will also receive 12 monthly envelopes in which to enclose your payments.  When you make a monthly payment to Ada Bible Church, we will then wire all monthly funds to MCF in Kenya.

How would I make my monthly payment?
You simply write a check to “Ada Bible Church” and place it in the offering basket with your monthly payment slip.  That monthly support will be wired to MCF every month.  If you do not use the assigned payment slip please be sure and write “MCF Adopt”  on the memo line so that the funds get to MCF and are not deposited  into the general donation fund.

Are my support checks tax deductible?
Yes.  Any check you write will show up on your year-end church statement.

What if I miss a payment?
The most ideal situation is to make a monthly payment at the beginning of each month.  However, as your financial situation changes from month to month, please feel free to skip a month and double up the next month if needed.   If for some reason you need to drop out of the program during the year, simply call the office to inform us.  We will make the necessary adjustment and inform MCF for their records.

Will I ever have a chance to write my sponsored child?
Yes.  At least twice during the program, we will be coordinating the exchange of letters between you and your child.  We will contact you by email when this takes place.

How long does the program last?
Ada Bible Church has committed to a one year program.  Our goal is to provide support for as many children as possible for 12 months starting February 2008.

What happens after the program ends?
If someone wants to continue the support or adopt a child, they may elect to do that through Mully Children’s Family USA:  PO Box 710, Ada, MI 49301

What else should I do?
You should keep the picture of your child on hand (maybe on the refrigerator) to remind you to regularly pray for MCF and your child.  Life in Kenya is difficult, especially for an orphan or street child.  Your child will need your prayers.
