You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. - 2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT
Our General Fund is used to cover operating expenses such as utilities, staff salaries, supplies, curriculum, food, equipment, cleaning, etc. It also is used to make accelerated payments of our building debt. For 2007-2008, our weekly General Fund needs are $100,000. Your regular weekly offering goes into this fund.
The Benevolent Fund provides short term help for church families who are experiencing periods of financial hardship. Administered by our deacon board, gifts from this fund go to specific needs such as paying utilities, medical bills, car repairs, groceries, etc. At the Deacon's discretion, it can also be used for special benevolent needs that may arise throughout the world (e.g. Hurricane Katrina or the Asian tsunami). A benevolent fund offering is usually taken at communion services but you can give to this fund anytime by writing "benevolent fund" in the memo section of your check. Gifts to this fund should be over and above your regular giving.
If you think you may need assistance from our benevolent fund, you may request an application by calling the church office at 868.7005 ext. 0.
The Building Fund is still open even though we are paying off the building using general fund monies. Whatever is contributed to the building fund goes directly to pay off building debt. You may contribute to the building fund by writing "building fund" in the memo section of your check. Again, gifts to this fund should be over and above your regular giving.
