First Time Visit

Preaching at Ada

What should I expect when I visit for the first time?

We know it's not easy visiting a church for the first time. You may be asking yourself questions such as: Am I really welcome? Will I be conspicuous? How do I dress? Will my kids like it? Will they ask me for money? Am I welcome if I am not sure I believe?

We want your visit to be to be a stress free, enjoyable experience, so here is a brief overview of what to expect at Ada Bible Church.

When you arrive at our church you will park in any parking lot and enter through either of our two main entrances (Cascade or Quiggle). You will be greeted at the front door by our friendly volunteers who will say hello and help direct you to one of our information centers. There you may ask questions and get directions to one of our worship areas.

If you have kids (ages birth through 5th grade), you will be pointed to a welcome center where you can register them for our children's program available during all services. Our Saturday 5:30 p.m. service offers a children's program for birth through 5th grade. You are always welcome to take your kids into the services with you, but most of our kids really enjoy the kid's program. We have developed a good security system so you will know that your kids are safe and well cared for.

Grades 6-8 meet during all weekend services and on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 p.m. High school students meet on Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m.. Click here for more information on LifeLine, our ministry for students in grades 6-12.

When you enter the auditorium or one of our video venues, you will be given a bulletin by one of our ushers which has the order of service for the day and information about upcoming events and opportunities at our church. Our ushers will help you find a seat and answer any questions you may have. The service begins with some upbeat music, followed by a welcome, prayer, and announcement time. We take an offering and if you are just visiting, please don't feel obligated to put money in the plate. We want you to be our guest. People that call Ada Bible Church their home give out of gratitude for all that God has blessed us with. The teaching pastor for the day will give a message that is based on the Bible and relevant to daily life. The teaching will last about 35-40 minutes and we generally end the service with prayer and sometimes a song.

We celebrate communion several times each year and if you are a committed Christian, you are welcome to share communion with us. If not, you can sit back and enjoy some music during this time.

The music at Ada Bible Church has a contemporary feel (drums, guitars, keyboard, and vocalists.) The music teams do a great job leading the worship service and you will enjoy learning new songs and occasionally singing some old favorites. The mission of the music ministry is to use the tool of music to encourage a lifestyle of worship.

As soon as we dismiss, you can pick up your kids from their classrooms and then stay around and enjoy some coffee and cookies as you get to know some people. Watch the bulletin for Connecting Point opportunities. This is an area where you can meet a ministry leader and find out some specific information on our various ministries. The information centers in the front entrances have welcome packs, calendars of events for all of our ministries, and lots of other information. Don't forget to visit one of the friendly volunteers there!
